Bartop arcade - to put on a bartop, not necessarily to put drinks on it... LOL
Ya I visited the url. Did you build from scratch? What did you do to print the thing at the base? Based on R-Pi? I assume you didn't buy one of those things people were selling for $100+...
I thought bartop arcade is an arcade cabinet that doubles as a bartop? Not an arcade cabinet that is placed on top of a bartop leh but guess I'm wrong since these bartop arcade cabinets dun have legs to stand on.
hehe, I think those are called cocktail arcade tables, where it also doubles as a err.... table
Yes, everything, well mostly was from scratch. The main side panels were from a table shelf i bought off shopee, which i retrofitted/glued together to form the dimensions i want. My barcade measures 64 cm in length, 62 cm in height and 34 cm in depth.
The thing at the base... i assume you are referring to the panel with the various character "cards"
https://i.ibb.co/YpxY5f6/Parts.jpgthat one is just googling for a UMVC3 poster art, and selecting some that are higher definition quality to print. I cover every art piece with a hard plastic sheet which i bought from evergreen, especially on the sticks and buttons area, which are prone to more mashing and touch points.
Yes, the system is a Raspberry Pi 3B+, running retropie. I also used Final Burn Alpha instead of MAME as the emulator for the roms.
those $100++ you referring to i think is those pandora's box.. or jamma box... nah, i did not buy those.
overall this was very fun to do, did a lot of sawing of wood, drilling holes, screws. I also put a LED strip behind the marquee
https://i.ibb.co/ZGGtxWd/lit.jpgmy afternoons now, when i sian from WFH, is spent reliving my younger days - KOF-ing, Metal Slugging etc. I curated 100+ games which i probably will play, and put into the system.
