E3 2016 Press Conferences

Postby Jayson » Tue Jun 14, 2016 11:26 am

The annual Electronics Entertainment Expo this year opened on a disturbingly sober note following the mass killing over the weekend at Orlando heavily condemned by the world (except Malaysia who actually welcomed it). But the show must go on regardless and prayers are all out for the ones hurt by this tragedy.

Each E3 gets better than the last one for each publisher (except for a certain obvious one). If you missed the conferences sit back and enjoy the shows E3 has to offer in the coming months.

EA kicked off as the early bird to capture much of the crowd to gain their support with Titanfall 2; now including PS4 (FINALLY!) following the horribly disastrous decision to make it an Xbox One exclusive. New additions aside it now includes a full single player campaign (offine playable).

EA Chief Competition Officer Peter Moore embarrassed himself; spoiling the show by hailing Jürgen Klopp as his favourite manager and Liverpool FC as the best club ever in the English Premier League (finished 8th, main highlight: 2-2 draw with Norwich City, lost to Serville in Europa League 1-3) during the promotion of FIFA 17. This is also the first FIFA game to have a single player campaign as well.

Game Highlights (random order)

Titanfall 2
Mass Effect Andromeda
Madden NFL 17
FIFA 17
FE
BATTLEFIELD 1

Bethesda has really good games that doesn't need sequel for the next few years. Quake is finally resurrected but is only for PC but I didn't really care. A lot of support for existing games DOOM, FALLOUT 4 and the Free-2-Play FALLOUT SHELTER who still rock on their own will have impressive content made for them.

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim lives on and the rumor of a remastered version is confirmed. The online MMO version is really impressive. Dishonored 2 looks really beautiful and the story continues from the previous game.

Game Highlights (random order)

Quake Champions
DOOM (Multiplayer Maps)
FALLOUT 4 (additional DLC)
FALLOUT SHELTER (additional add-ons and PC version)
Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Remastered
Elder Scrolls Online (Dark Brotherhood)
Elder Scrolls card game
Prey

The new South Park game coming soon IMO really stole the Ubisoft Conference, only tied with the new sports adventure game Steep: Extreme Sports. Just Dance 2017 as their opening number actually turned me off seriously and I actually did not watch it for a while because of it! Then the good stuff finally flowed in. Watch_Dogs 2 looks better including For Honor.

Game Highlights (random order)

Just Dance 2017
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Tom Clancy's The Division (DLC)
Trials of the Blood Dragon
Watch_Dogs 2
For Honor
Star Trek Bridge Crew
Grow Up

Where do I start to begin with really. More like releasing as a new console than an upgrade, Project Scorpio while aimed at developers looks like a rushed attempt to beat Sony but its obvious it will fail terribly. Their exclusives are a bore and the third party titles did not ignite any spark to the conference; Tekken 7 was pretty much a forgotten title with a very long absence from the consoles. FFXV looks out of place at the conference the crowd was not enthusiastic like the other conferences earlier.

It's still SSSDY for Microsoft and even with a new console; things can only look downhill from here on.

Err...what?

ALL HAIL TO THE GOD OF E3 CONFERENCES!!!!!

Only Sony could've pulled this off. Many good games coming out. VR is still a mixed bag to some but it already looks amazing (I tried a demo at GameStart 2015 too). A lot can be said but it won't be enough to put it all here. I'll just put this video here and let you drool all over them!

Game Highlights (random order)

God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn
Days Gone
Resident Evil VII
The Last Guardian (release date 25/10/16)
Detroit Become Human
Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding
Farpoint
Spider-Man
Final Fantasy XV
